A car always attracts attention. In the society of today an automobile is both a need and a luxury. A need because it is now a must, in order to survive, for example: you now need a car go to work, buy groceries, and etc. Car donations are essential parts of most charity fund raising techniques as well as charity work because there is an endless need for cars so they are an easy profit.

Car DonationPerhaps it must be reiterated that the definition of a car donation is a contribution towards an altruistic cause without repayment of any tangible gain. The gift is usually in the form of a car that has lost its use to the owners. Identity Crisis, The most commonly committed error is the mistaken identity. People usually mistake car donation services for the charity themselves, and herein lies the ambiguity of the matter. When you go to Google and type in car donation, you end up with pages and pages of websites all claiming to work for the common good.

Instead of asking the charity to pick up your gift, drive it down yourself. This’ll help the charity save on the cost of having someone tow or pick up the car. The goal here is help to the charity make money, not spend it.To make a clean break, ensure that the Car Title is appropriately transferred to the organization’s name. If you don’t, you might get mail regarding unpaid parking tickets, and then you’ll be in trouble.

If you can make time, try to refrain from using middlemen or what’s called a car donation service. Although they mean well, you cannot deny the fact that they are businesses, and an enterprise’s main goal is to create income. It could be that they only give $200 to charities for every $1000 they make selling your car. This defeats the end of being able to give the charitable institution maximum revenue. If you calculate it, only 10 to 20% actually goes to the actual charity. Additionally, if say only $100 reaches the charity then you will not be eligible for the tax subtractions.

Be MeticulousTry and keep track of all the paper works. You must keep extra copies for yourself for later purposes and for your current IRS needs. Make sure you fill up all of the IRS required form. The proof of sale will not be needed if the charity keeps your car for their use. By the way, this is where working with a good charity can help you because they are actually going to be the one to provide you with the necessary forms and documentations. If you’re giving away an expensive or relatively new vehicle then you need to get independent appraisal.

The clincher always seems to be the tax deduction, so here’s a gist of the IRS new conditions. To avail of the tax break the charity must issue an acknowledgement certificate of donation containing the charity’s name and address, the make and model of your car, its present condition, and a fair appraisal amount of the car’s worth. Additionally, they must also state that no goods or services were made in repayment for the car so it can qualify as a donation. The IRS allows a deduction of not more than 50% of your gross deductible amount. The write off will be based on the car’s market value, or the amount in which the charity got for the car and quick car insurance.

How To Get Cheap Car Insurance!

One of the most important ongoing cost when buying a car is Car insurance. In the UK you should allow for this cost when buying a car because it is a must and you are not allowed on the road without it. It can be expensive depending on the car you drive and depending on the individual. Being a driver in the UK myself, I have taken the factors in consideration and the way they calculate your car insurance are fairly standard worldwide and the cost will apply to you where ever you live.

The premium the car insurance company will charge you for your annual car insurance cover all depends on the factors they take in account when they the evaluation. When the insurance company evaluate you, they look at some very important facts like, your age, how long you have been driving without any claims, your sex and what you do for a living. I would say the most important factors are your age and your past motoring experience. Some companies might differ but knowing out of experience that most companies focus on your age and past driving experience. Age is important because the younger you are, the more likely you are to get into an accident and being a female is also a bonus because it is proven that more male drivers gets into accidents than females.

Factors that will definitely help with the quote process are the number of years the you have been driving without making any claims through the car insurance and if you have been driving without receiving police endorsements for related incidents as driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol, speeding and dangerous driving. Rising Gasoline Price Is A big Concern

Rising gasoline prices may just make other forms of alternative means of transportation become more attractive. One of the ways not to be affected by the rising prices of gas is to have an alternative means of travel. Of course, saving up on gasoline use may help in some way, but such actions may still leave one affected with the rising prices of gas. A better way would be trying to use a mode of transportation aside from one that makes use of fuel aside from gasoline. One such example is the use of an electric car.

As the sudden rise in gasoline prices have made people become more concerned, it would also be very important to know about the different factors that give rise to such increases in the first place. There are four main elements that affect the pricing of gasoline in the retail market, primary of which is the price of crude oil in the world market.

Electric cars get electricity for power by means of electric battery packs built on board. One of the advantages of using electric vehicles or EV’s is that they are environmentally friendly. Unlike fossil fuel that emits a number of pollutants into the air when being used, the use of electricity for power does not do so, except that the power plants that may produce them do. But with using electric cars, the emission of harmful pollutants may be reduced substantially. Less cars using fossils fuel and gasoline would help make this possible. And someday, when more electric power is sourced from nuclear, solar, wind and hydro-electric power plants, pollutant emissions will even be reduced more.

Performance-wise, electric cars offer smoother and noiseless operation that cars relying on gasoline. Electric cars provide stronger acceleration and the electric motor requires lesser maintenance than the internal combustion engines of cars using gasoline and other fossil fuels. By using electricity through batteries, energy conversion is more efficient. Electric motors makes use of 75 percent of the chemical energy converted into electricity to run the car. Internal combustion engines or ICE’s only are able to make use about 20 percent of the energy stored in gasoline to power the vehicle.

Aside from the price of crude oil and refining costs, distribution costs also account for a great deal of the retail price of gasoline in the market. Aside from shipping and overseas transport costs, distributing gasoline to the different gasoline stations in the area may also account for the retail price of the gasoline. Some areas may have some difficulties obtaining their gasoline supply due to distance as well as accessibility while some have it easy because of being in close proximity to major gas depots. It is through this that gas prices may also differ from one area to another. Distribution also affects the gasoline retail price.

In an area having just a few gas retail stations available, the gasoline prices would tend to be higher. The reason for this is that the demand would still be a bit greater with only a few retail stations able to provide the supply. In some cases, the consumer may be made to choose- whether to buy cheaper gasoline to a retail station location many miles away or buy gas from a nearer station offering more expensive gasoline prices. And will this rising casoline prices effect cars quotes in the future?

Understanding What Causes The Increase In Diesel Prices

Diesel fuel is one of the most important commodities on the economic landscape. The reason for this is that the transportation used in almost all aspects of the economy is fueled by diesel engines. Rising diesel fuel prices usually translate to rising costs of products and services. In order to know what can be done to slow down this increase, you as a consumer need to understand its causes.

There are several basic elements that determine the worth of a gallon of diesel. About sixty percent of the cost of diesel reflects the price of crude oil, which is raw material for diesel production. Crude oil is purchased from oil producing countries and subsequently brought to refineries where the ultra-low sulfur diesel, among other petroleum products, is extracted. Given a barrel of crude, a refinery will be able to distill about one tenth of a barrel of diesel. Refining accounts for nearly twenty percent of diesel fuel cost.

The remaining elements of the cost of diesel fuel are government taxes and the expense of marketing and distribution. A ten percent excise tax is levied onto all fuel products that are manufactured in the country. Although foreign fuel avoids this, it is generally cheaper to buy locally refined fuel as import taxes generally translate to higher unit price. Marketing and distribution only makes up five percent of total diesel fuel cost, but this can often be the most volatile factor affecting the value of diesel fuel.

Basically, the price of everything is dependent on supply and demand. If supply is low and demand is high, prices will go up. If supply is plentiful, the price will stay steady, and may even decrease when demand wanes.

In addition, the relative increase of prices of diesel fuel products have made gas prices appear much cheaper, especially with less people choosing to buy gasoline. Increasing consumption of diesel fuel has driven up its prices, whereas a near steady to decreasing consumption of gasoline has led to its price to remain stable, if not decreasing as well over time. This increases the relative price gap between the two.

Inclusive in the cost to manufacture and transport diesel fuel to the consumers are the costs of crude oil, refinery processing, marketing and distribution, and retail station operation. The costs and profits of the refiners, marketers, distributors, and retail station owners are reflected in the retail pump price. The comparative share of these cost components to the retail price varies over time and among the country?s regions.

World supply and demand, international politics, economic pressures, all of these play interrelated roles in the cost of fuel. Though they seem beyond the comprehension of the non-economist layman, it all really boils down to supply and demand, and this is something anyone can understand. Saving fuel and lowering consumption is not only good for the environment; it decreases demand, and ultimately, cost. Programs which promote peace and goodwill among nations do not only make a better world; they result in less disruption of supply lines, and again, decrease fuel costs. The factors that affect diesel fuel prices seem complex, but an understanding of the basic principles can empower the individual consumer. Unsurprisingly, it would seem that doing the right thing really is the right thing to do.And can this rising prices cause a cheap car insurance company to become cheaper?

How To Make A Car Donation!

As long as your local church organization is an IRS recognized non-profit organization, there is no problem making a car donation and getting a tax benefit at the same time. Chances are you have probably heard that your local church needs to raise fund for a free meals drive, or that your local priest, pastor, or deacon needs a car to preach and invite more people to attend church. If so, why not make a car donation?

It is more tangible to make a donation to an institution that you are a part of or at least close to than favoring an unknown. For one thing, you will definitely know if your contribution made a difference, or whether it was put to good use. Since the charity is more special to you, an honest evaluation of the car you are offering is a necessity. The attribute of your philanthropic offering is equal only the quality of the vehicle in question. A car that’s worth nothing will not be of use to your favorite charity.

The most important part of giving away your car for a good cause is to look for the right charity. Finding an institution with the same agenda as yours is akin to interviewing an applicant for a certain position. The pivotal move is to ask questions. Some charities have a number of programs and may be flexible in assigning your donation to a certain goal in which you and the charity officer agree on. Unfortunately, there are some who have a specific set of purpose.

To qualify for write offs, the donation must be made to an IRS qualified charities or the following: religious organizations; state, federal, and government institutions (as long as the car donation is for public use); Non-profit hospitals and schools; Red Cross, Good Will, Meals on Wheels, Care, Salvation Army, and the Girls’ and Boy Scouts of America; and those listed in the IRS’ publication 78. A donation is not tax deductible when it is made to an individual.

A car title is a strict requirement for donating a car. Prepare the 1040 form and fill up schedule A. The amount of deduction is limited to 50% of the already adjusted gross amount of your income. The write off is based on the cost at which the charity sold your car (if more $500), or the fair market value if the car is less than $500.

Do not forget to take note of the location at which you donated your car, the charity and its address, the condition of your car, and the contemporaneous written acknowledgement of your contribution. All these, are needed for you to avail of the tax deduction. You have to submit all of these requirements at an IRS Specified deadline or else you cannot get a write off.

It is very difficult to find a charity whose goals are the same as yours, much less one you could trust. By donating to the local church you are assured that the church charity will employ your car donation into something that will be of satisfaction to you as a donor.Read more about business car insurance when you want to read more related articles.

How To Combat High Diesel Prices.

As consumers, the basic basket of goods that we often purchase in the course of everyday involves diesel and other fuel products, making us susceptible to the impact of diesel fuel prices. Diesel fuel, gasoline, and oil are used not only in running cars and other transport vehicles, but also are used for cooking, heating the home, and powering diesel-powered equipment like snow-blowers, lawn-mowers, and the like. A huge chunk of expenditure goes to purchasing fuel to run these vital activities, which would justify trying to understand as much as one can about how it is priced and where the product itself is from.

Being a highly complex fuel, diesel fuel?s chemical structure changes from the time it leaves the refinery to the time it is pumped into holding tanks and fuel station to the time it gets pumped into the vehicle. Oxidization and structural changes occur in the fuel molecules. The energy per unit volume of the fuel can change during this phase, and this is what will cause your engine to have poor performance.

To combat the effects of fuel degradation and increase the fuel?s cetane value (discussed in detail below), the right type and ratio of fuel additives have to be used. Among a myriad of benefits, the engine will be able to obtain more power from a gallon of fuel.

Diesel fuel has more energy per gallon as compared to gasoline. The three types of diesel fuel are 1D, 2D, and a combination of the two. The lighter grade is 1D, and it offers less energy than 2D. It is more commonly used to reduce, if not eliminate, the gelling of fuel during cold winter climates; some people combine it with 2D.

Another factor that affects the prices of diesel fuel in the United States is the geography. West Coast countries have generally higher prices than the other parts of the country. This holds true especially for California because of the taxes and issues on the supply. These countries add more tax?that is, they combine the state and local taxes, and add another tax value on top of the federal excise tax and state tax. Washington is one of the countries that have the highest tax.

In addition, governments play a role in determining how diesel fuels arrive at the point of mass consumption. Governments levy hefty taxes on oil refining and distribution companies, many of which already run the regular gas pumping stations. Also, governments have required the reduction of sulphur content in diesel fuel, creating an expensive additional stage in the refining process to reduce sulphur. The additional burden of tax, the cost of operating distribution through gas pumping stations, and the cost of building infrastructure to enable them to comply with government ordinances have driven diesel prices to higher levels even if production costs considerations were ignored.

Knowing these drivers, and just what this resource is all about, allows consumers to better appreciate the dynamics of the energy industry. They will also be able to use their common knowledge of market dynamics in order to predict or protect themselves from diesel fuel prices inflation. And how will this effect our right to buy car cheap insurance!

Gas Prices Rising By The Mile!

The rising gasoline prices has everyone concerned about the future. Of course, with gasoline being the fuel of the most common form of transportation today, who would not be? And since gasoline is still a major fuel used by most cars in the world, there is nothing that can be done except deal with the changes. People may not have that much of an influence in lowering the current gas prices especially with the great demand for gasoline elsewhere in the world. The most effective means would be making a collective effort of minimizing gasoline use as well as trying to get more out of every gallon of gas as possible.

Crude Oil Gasoline comes from crude oil. A bulk of the crude oil supply for the global market is located in the Middle East. This region accounts for about forty percent of the world’s supply of crude oil. And in this region has an established organization called OPEC (Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries) that sets the price of crude oil produced by their member countries. The OPEC also sets the rate of production at which each member countries should try to come up with periodically in order to set up a stable enough supply according to demand.

Refining Price of crude oil is set on a per barrel basis. One barrel of crude oil contains 42 gallons which is then refined to become gasoline. Each barrel of crude oil then yields approximately 19.6 gallons of gasoline. Remaining yields include distillate fuel oil, residual fuel oil, jet fuel, and other products. The refining process may also affect the price of the end product.

Taxes are also considered a prime factor in setting the price tag for gasoline at retail gas stations. Different areas in the country follow different tax standards for gasoline. Aside from the federal taxes, states also have their own set of taxes being placed on petroleum products. The higher the taxes placed on gasoline, the higher its retail price eventually becomes. The difference in state, federal and local taxes is also one of the reaosns why different states have different gasoline prices.

Dealing with the high gasoline prices for the car owner does not depend on these factors however. It has more to deal with trying to get the most out of every drop. And this usually means that car owners try to get the best mileage out of their vehicles when using them.

The distribution process usually starts from an oil producing country shipping the crude oil to several refineries overseas. The refineries then transport the gasoline into a series of pipelines inland that lead to several of the major consumer areas. It is here that the gasoline may also be further blended or refined to match certain local regulations. The finished product may then be delivered to several retail outlets where the price is set according to certain factors such as supply, demand as well as competition.

With gasoline becoming quite an expensive product, car owners should try to improve their car’s fuel economy and mileage as much as possible. Better mileage and fuel use means that the car has to use lesser fuel in traveling a certain distance. This can result in lesser fuel being used. The less fuel used the less amount of gasoline needed. And with gasoline prices rising these recent months, it could account into substantial savings that may help ease the concerns brought about by the higher gasoline price tag. With The rising cost in fuel prices I think car insurers should bring down the prices for insurance!

Can Hybrid Cars Save The Fuel Crisis?

The recent rise in gasoline prices have given people more reason to look for alternative means of transportation. The rising cost of using gas may have motivated a lot of people to clamor for an alternative form of transportation that would help usher in an age where humans no longer have to depend a lot on a so-called Oil Economy. And with the move to look for alternative sources of transportation, many researchers have begun looking into other forms of alternative fuels in order to run future vehicles. One of the most attractive and in fact the most appealing concept provided is the use of hydrogen to run cars. It would only be time before hydrogen cars would be used as the primary transport in the streets. Btu what exactly is it?

A hydrogen car is a relatively new type of transport vehicle that uses hydrogen as its primary on-board fuel. The hydrogen car is different from conventional vehicles in that it uses a different type of engine to make the vehicle move. There are two ways that this can be made possible.

The influence is far reaching. Fossil fuel accounts for a majority of the energy and power needs of countries all over the world. Without it, countries may suddenly fall into chaos. And such events may likely happen in the near future as crude oil supply gets scarce while the demand for it still grows. Fossil fuel such as crude oil is not a renewable resource. At some point in the future, it may run out.

Aside from the gasoline engine, the hybrid electric car also has a special electric motor built in that not only helps provide added power to the car but also acts as a generator when not being used. The electric motor can act as a generator in situations where it is not being used to help charge the battery for added efficiency. In a common HEV set up, the car uses its electric motor when being propelled at very low speeds. The gasoline engine acts as a secondary power source when the HEV requires much needed power as in the case of climbing up an incline. The gasoline engine also has the ability to compensate the electric motor with power whenever the car needs it in order to go faster. The gas and the electric motor can also work in combo at certain instances if needed.

Although the use of hydrogen fuel cells is being eyed to have the best potential to power hydrogen cars of the future, the plan may still face certain obstacles. One, hydrogen fuel cells are too expensive to produce using current technology. Not only that, hydrogen fuel cells also tend to be very fragile and sensitive to vibrations and sudden movements. Engineers today are still trying to come up with a design and develop a type of hydrogen fuel cell that can be strong enough to withstand the vibrations frequent bumps that normally comes with traveling by car. And at the same time, there would be a need for a better and more affordable technology to build the hydrogen fuel cells to make them more affordable to consumers.

But despite the challenges still posed on the development of the hydrogen car, its future still remains very bright. What especially makes hydrogen cars so attractive is that hydrogen is a renewable energy resource. This is unlike fossil fuels which will run out sooner or later and may cause even more serious rise in gasoline prices. The hydrogen car proves to be a more logical alternative to a world looking for a means to move away from too much dependence on fossil fuel. But Is ther a car broker that sell cheap hybrid cars?

Why Is Petrol Cheaper Than Diesel?

History has it that the gasoline prices have been higher than the diesel fuel prices. But then again, this does not always hold true. During some winters, the demand for distillate heating oil increases which also raises the price of diesel fuel?so much so that is becomes more expensive than gasoline.

In the United States since September 2004, the price of diesel fuel has been by and large higher than the price of gasoline all year round and this is due to numerous reasons. The worldwide steady increase of demand for diesel fuel and other distillate fuel oils has put pressure on the tight global refining capacity?more so with the strong demand of such products in China, Europe, and the United States. The transition from low sulfur diesel (LSD) fuel to ultra-low sulfur diesel (ULSD) fuel in the United States has affected the diesel fuel production and distribution costs. This is due to the new Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) standards for diesel fuel sulfur content.

The concept of water being used as fuel is simple. You will be using Hydrogen gas or H2 gas instead of diesel fuel or gasoline. Right now, technology still doesn’t permit us to utilize 100% Hydrogen gas on a car. It is usually mixed with a little bit of diesel, but still it reduces the money you’ll have to pay for diesel fuel. When you use the hybrid of diesel and hydrogen gas in your car, your car runs efficiently and it will get you to where you need to go.

Next, crude oil enters the process of refining. This is the stage where crude oil is processed into the different forms of fuel it will become. Gasoline and diesel fuel primarily differ in the refining process that is used for it. Originally, better-refined gasoline was more expensive than diesel fuel; however, the costs of processing gasoline were overrun by the price impact of excess demand for diesel fuel. Diesel fuel and distillate heating oil, on the other hand, are processed using the same refining process. This is the reason why the increase in prices in one affects and increases the prices of the other.

Costs in order to bring the refined oil to the market?both marketing and distribution?also add material and at times, expensive costs to diesel fuel. This is because the transportation of oil, the marketing and advertising operations of the oil firms, and the manpower necessary to run all these operations, all involve costs that the company must incur in order to sell the final refined oil product to the market. Gasoline stations from where people get both gasoline and diesel fuel also incur costs for operations, a part of which is also levied on the retail prices of refined oil.Over and above these production costs, governments levy taxes on oil products, creating greater impetus to increase fuel prices. It is the combination of these cost contributors that determine the dynamics of diesel fuel prices in the retail market. And will this fuel prices ever effect our car insurance estimates, if fuel goes up our insurances must come down.
